    Get Fit At Home

    What would you do with extra money, time and freedom?

    What if we could give you all this and help you get fit at home? What if you even had fun whilst doing it?

    Having the freedom to move our bodies with strength and control is something I believe resonates with all of us. If you haven’t experienced freedom to move your body and how good it makes you feel, we’ve probably all experienced the negative side of the opposite. Feeling tight, restricted or even injured… or maybe just feeling stuck at home and not having the freedom to train the way you want to.

    If that’s the case then I want to challenge us all that all we need to create the freedom to train and get fit at home (get all the benefits of less cost and saving time from going to a gym) is nature’s gift to us: gravity, a bit of space and a change in mindset.

    If we can train at home, we save money from our gym membership, save time from travelling to and from the gym and we have to change our mindset to utilise the best piece of ‘equipment’ you’ve ever been given – your body!

    When we train with the best piece of equipment, which is free and available for us all to use (your body) not only do we start to move and train in more natural ways that integrate the whole unit, we become more creative by nature.

    Using our body against gravity requires us to move in lots of different ways, when we allow our minds to shift away from what I can’t do because I don’t have equipment but towards how can I manipulate my body to train in lots of different ways, planes of motion and position.

    Regardless of whether you think of yourself as a ‘creative’ person. When you shift your mind and your training towards bodyweight at home, creative doors start to open. There are no hard and fast rules, only principles around safe and effective movement of your body. As Coach Georgie always says “if it feels good it good, but it it feels bad it’s bad!”

    So getting on the ground, up against a wall, feet or hands on a step or chair, we start to move our bodies in different ways. If you move with purpose, mindfulness and control you can’t really go wrong.

    It starts to become fun when you ‘play’ with movement. Having this freedom compared to the rigidity of weights or machines can even be liberating.

    Ok, ‘that all sounds nice but what about getting fit’ you might be asking.

    Well, we’ve been working on this ourselves all throughout lockdown. Coming up with creative, fun but challenging ways to build strength and get fit at home.

    ‘I don’t have time like you guys’ you might say!

    We’re actually the same as everyone else, busy and stressed most of the time. That’s why we’ve created some of our conditioning workouts to range from as little as 5 or 10 minutes and the challenge isn’t about getting started it’s actually about giving yourself the mental freedom to choose to get started.

    Utilising things like bear crawls, lunge jumps and plank variations (see tutorials below) you can get a really quick and effective conditioning workout done at home in as little as 10 minutes.
