We are very excited to announce the 2020 United Kingdom luxury retreat in the beautiful setting of the Broughton Hall Estate!
The Broughton Hall Estate, set in the beautiful natural countryside of North Yorkshire, is home to the Avalon luxury spa and set to host our best UK retreat so far – for only 8 special guests.
The School of Calisthenics retreats are the only place that Tim and Jacko provide individualised movement screenings and assessments, and design personalised training programmes for you face-to-face. The retreats are an intimate affair with more one-on-one coaching than our workshops hence why we limit the retreat to only 8 places.
Dates: Friday 9th to 12th October 2020
Location: Broughton Hall Estate, Skipton
What to expect…
Enjoy Full Board Accommodation
Set in the beautiful grounds of the Broughton Hall Estate, you are surrounded by natural beauty plus Tim and Jacko will be there! Luxury accommodation and delicious food from our in-house professional chef that will ensure all your food and nutritional needs are ‘more than’ met during your stay!
Personalised calisthenics screening and individualised programme design
This is the only time when you can get an individual physical movement assessment and a bespoke calisthenics training programme designed specifically for you by Tim and Jacko.
Using our experience of screening and developing strength and conditioning programmes for elite athletes, the team will create a comprehensive programme and training plan for you and then explain the specifics of the thought process behind it whilst coaching you through each of the exercises.
We don’t offer this opportunity at any other time in the year, so don’t miss out!
Education development sessions
We’re not just going to cover the practical side of calisthenics training on the field trip but we’ll also include some ‘lessons’.
These sessions will be fun and informal rather than a university lecture! Tim and Jacko have some great knowledge development sessions planned as we’re passionate about educating our students to help you understand how to optimise your training and write your own programmes.
They will include some basic exercise science and training theory so you know why you’re doing what you’re doing.
With all this, ‘redefining your impossible’ is only a matter of time!
There will be optional yoga, mobility and sports massages available – unfortunately not all of these will be led by Tim and Jacko!
We’ll also have plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful location, explore the surrounds of the amazing Broughton Hall Estate during downtime between training and coaching sessions.
The retreat is all about learning more about calisthenics, getting individualised support with your training and when you’re all calisthenics’d out, having fun. The experience and developing your knowledge is of paramount importance to us, so there will be plenty of opportunity throughout the four days to pick the brains of the co-founders of the School of Calisthenics.

Here’s what previous calisthenics retreats have looked like to wet the appetite…
Those that came in previous years said;
“The continued enthusiasm that both of you provide, although we aren’t or ever will be professional athletes for a small time we feel like we we’re getting such good advice and attention to our training it really lifts the times when we are on our own training to achieve a goal which seems a long way off.” – Darren Clark
“I don’t need to say more about the food, seriously amazing, ‘Coops’ the chef and ‘Shawsy’ the barista were fantastic, really fun and good natured and a bonus to have around. Abi is a star, made me feel looked after and always good natured! Thank you for your time and your energy, I really appreciate your support and I always come back motivated and uplifted. The whole team worked synergistically and you are a joy to be around 🙂 thank you!.” – Gem Hallam
“The value for money is outstanding. The food was outstanding, I love my food and the fact that there was lots of high quality and very varied dishes was absolutely perfect. Your enthusiasm is infectious but your level of knowledge is inspiring. It has been a privilege to learn from people like you both always took the time to give me alternatives to help build my foundation and confidence and so I always felt like I was able to participate and get something out of the sessions which was appropriate for my level.
It was an incredible event on every level and wanted to let you know. I am very grateful for the time you spent with me. Whilst coming back to reality has meant long hours with little time for training in the last few weeks, I managed a six second frogstand this morning. I have to start somewhere and I am telling you, whilst a six second frogstand is never going to set the world on fire, I will confess I gave a little fist pump when I fell out of it! ;o) Thanks for helping me start my Calisthenics journey, you guys are just fantastic!” – Fiona Thompson
