Mr Jackson

Head of Education & Human Flags
ROOM 602

David ‘Jacko’ Jackson is a former professional rugby player turned professional Strength and Conditioning coach and calisthenics athlete. A successful rugby career, including representing the world famous Barbarians, was cut short due to injury. The end of one career was the birth of another and a new found love of calisthenics was born. With no gymnastics background or calisthenics experience Jacko and Tim have applied their knowledge of training, exercise science and strength and conditioning to develop their own calisthenics skills, movement and body strength. This in turn led to the birth of the ‘School of Calisthenics’ where their love of calisthenics and learning new things came together. The road along the calisthenics journey is a long and sometimes frustrating one, but Jacko’s advice for anyone wanting to start calisthenics is this;

‘Don’t worry what your starting point is, don’t be afraid to try something you’ve never done before. Trying, failing and learning from our failures is the way all of us learn and develop most effectively. It is the same in everything we do and calisthenics is no different. Be patient. Be consistent in your training and nutrition and ensure you understand the correct techniques used in all movements and why you’re doing an exercise. If you’re unsure about anything in calisthenics just ask, thats what the School of Calisthenics is here for!’

Jacko check this out bro! 9months worth of work, and then 2. Boom! The Muscle up guide was my first purchase too. Feeling rad. You guys rip it! Couldn’t have done it without the guide.

I just REDEFINED MY IMPOSSIBLE! This little sucker (Slow bar mu) has been in my head for over a year, and now it’s mine thanx to hard work AND The @schoolofcalisthenics for following through with spot on guidence and coaching.

Sometimes you need someone to tell you exactly what to do! In this case it was to take down the numbers of sessions and get enough rest! Quality over quantity! Amen 😊

  • Chad Clanton Again!

Well, let’s just say after the first time I got over (not recorded) a very visceral ‘F@#$ YES’ rung out, drawing most of the gym’s attention. But seriously, after months of trying and thousands of pull ups in training, it feels great. Cheers guys!

Feels great to redefine my impossible of the handstand. I’ve always had an aptitude for this type of thing so it was relatively easy compared to other graduations. But your personal message was the final piece of the puzzle! Thanks again for helping redefine my impossible!

  • Davide Strianese

This is my backlever graduation! Thanks for your tips, I’m italian, not many people here practice calisthenics so it’s been amazing to have the help from all your tutorials and training guides for me in Italy!

  • Max Galea

I’ve been following the videos you guys post and step by step tutorials. Also used your resistance bands to help correct the form too. All the tips really helped!!

  • Branco Pieters

Love the spread of positive vibes guys!!As for the redefining my impossible: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING…!It was so awesome when it finally clicked in my head on how to tilt the hips and push up together!! Thank you for all your help!

  • Ben Davies

Hey guys! I finally got my Frog to handstand down!! I’ve technically been able to do these for a while now but before I could only get up using a lot of momentum and even more luck (I could only get up 1 out of every 10 attempts and even if I did get up, I wasn’t in a good position to hold the handstand).

Then I saw your awesome videos and I really went back to the basics, working to achieve stability and control through every part of the motion. It felt like I was starting all over but it was so worth it; now I can get up 4 out of every 5 attempts and hold the handstand every time I’m up! The feeling of stability and control is just amazing. I can’t thank you guys enough for helping me redefine my impossible!

  • Steven Whatley
